Depending on the specific configuration, the drives, drive bay fillers, or drive cage might look different
from the illustrations in this section.
Important:
To avoid damage to the drive connectors when removing or installing a hot-swap drive, make sure that
the node is securely placed within an enclosure; or that
the top cover is in place and fully closed, when the node is not installed in an enclosure.
Procedure
Step 1. Make preparations for this task.
a. If applicable, remove the shipping bracket from the enclosure (see
“Configuration guide” on
page 45
).
b. Identify the drive to be removed.
Step 2. Remove the drive from the drive bay.
a. Slide the latch to unlock the drive handle.
b.
Pull the handle to open it.
c.
Slide the drive out of the drive bay.

After this task is completed
Install either a replacement drive (see
“Install a hot-swap drive” on page 88) or a drive bay filler into the
drive bay.
If you are instructed to return the component, follow all of the packaging instructions and use any
packaging materials for shipping that are supplied to you.
