Ifthesecuritychipisinactiveordisabled,theClearSecurityChipoptionwillnotbedisplayed.
Whenyouclearthesecuritychip,turnoffyourcomputerandthenturnitonagainafteryousetthe
securitychiptoActive.Otherwise,theClearSecurityChipoptionisnotdisplayed.
Usingthefingerprintreader
Dependingonthemodel,yourcomputermighthaveafingerprintreader.Fingerprintauthenticationcan
replaceyourWindowspassword.Inthisway,youcanlogintoyourcomputersimplyandsecurely.To
enablefingerprintauthentication,enrollyourfingerprintsfirst.
Enrollingyourfingerprints
Itisrecommendedthatyouenrollmorethanonefingerprintincaseofanyinjuriestoyourfingers.To
enrollyourfingerprints,dothefollowing:

1.Startthefingerprintprogram.Forinstructionsonhowtostartthefingerprintprogram,see“Lenovo
programs”onpage11

2.EntertheWindowspasswordasrequired.
3.Followtheinstructionsonthescreentofinishtheenrollment.

1.OpentheStartmenuandthenclickSettings.IfSettingsisnotdisplayed,clickAllappstodisplayall
