ToinstalltheTPM,dothefollowing:
1.Removeallmediafromthedrivesandturnoffallattacheddevicesandtheserver.Then,disconnectall
powercordsfromelectricaloutletsanddisconnectallcablesthatareconnectedtotheserver.
2.Iftheserverisinstalledinarackcabinet,removetheserverfromtherackcabinetandplaceitonaat,
clean,andstatic-protectivesurface.SeetheRackInstallationInstructionsthatcomeswiththeserver.
3.Removetheservercover.See“Removingtheservercover”onpage69.
4.LocatetheTPMconnectoronthesystemboard.See“Systemboardcomponents”onpage32.If
thereisanyPCIExpresscardinstalledontherisercardassembly1,itmightblockyouraccesstothe
TPMconnectoronthesystemboard.Inthiscase,youneedtoremovethecoolingshroud,andthen
carefullylifttherisercardassembly1upsothatyoucanaccesstheTPMconnector.Youdonotneedto
disconnectanycablesfromthePCIExpresscardorcompletelyremovetherisercardassembly1.
5.Touchthestatic-protectivepackagethatcontainstheTPMtoanyunpaintedsurfaceontheoutsideof
theserver.Then,taketheTPMoutofthepackage.
