baysareoccupiedbydummyharddiskdrivetrays.Whenyouinstallahot-swapharddiskdrive,savethe
removeddummyharddiskdrivetrayfromthedrivebayintheeventthatyoulaterremovethehot-swaphard
diskdriveandneedthedummytraytocovertheplace.
Attention:AnunoccupieddrivebaywithoutanyotherprotectionmightimpacttheEMIintegrityandcooling
oftheserver,whichmightresultinoverheatingorcomponentdamage.TomaintaintheEMIintegrityand
coolingoftheserver,installanewhot-swapharddiskdriveassoonasyouremovethefailingoneor
thedummytray.
Beforeyoubegin,reviewthefollowingharddiskdriveinstallationrules:

•ForRAIDconguration,theharddiskdrivesmustbethesametypewiththesamecapacityiftheyare

•Forharddiskdriveswithdifferentcapacities,installtheharddiskdrivebyfollowingtheorderofthehard
diskdrivebaysaswellastheorderfromthelowestcapacitytothehighestcapacity.
