24. Do not operate machine near drop-offs,
ditches, embankments, or bodies of
water. The machine could suddenly roll
over if a wheel goes over the edge or the
edge caves in. Leave a safety area
between the machine and any hazard.
25. Use care when loading or unloading the
machine into or off of a trailer or truck.
26. Never operate machine at high transport
speeds on a slippery surface. Do not
change the engine governor setting or
overspeed the engine. Operating the
engine at excessive speed can increase
the hazard of personal injury.
27. Disengage power to mower when
transporting or when not in use. Shut off
blades when you are not mowing.
28. Never operate the mower without good
visibility and lighting, keeping away from
holes and hidden hazards. Use care when
approaching blind corners, shrubs, trees,
or other objects that may obscure vision.
29. Low-hanging branches and similar
obstacles can injure the operator or
interfere with mowing operation. Before
mowing, identify potential obstacles such
as low-hanging branches, and trim or
remove those obstacles.
30. Keep clear of all rotating parts. Do not put
hands or feet under, or into mower and
subframe with engine running. Be
especially observant of the mower areas
of discharge, intake or all other
mechanical motions. Rotating blades can
cut off arms and legs, and throw objects
Failure to observe safety instructions
could result in serious injury or death

hydraulically supported machine elements
that may creep down, suddenly drop or be
accidentally lowered.

raised, removed or altered, unless using a grass
catcher. Do not operate mower without
discharge chute or entire grass catcher in place.
33. Stop equipment and inspect blades after striking
objects or if an abnormal vibration occurs. Make
necessary repairs before resuming operations.
34. Prolonged exposure to loud noise can cause
impairment or loss of hearing. Wear a suitable
hearing protective device such as earmuffs or
earplugs to protect against objectionable or
uncomfortable noises.
35. Always make sure all mower components are
properly installed and securely fastened
BEFORE operation.
36. Park the tractor/mower on level ground, place
the transmission in neutral, set the parking
brake, disengage the PTO, lower the mower to
the ground, place all control levers in neutral,
shut off the engine, remove the ignition key and
allow the rotating parts to stop BEFORE making
any repairs, adjustments or inspections.
37. Do not run the engine indoors except when
starting engine and transporting attachment in or
out of building. Carbon monoxide gas is
colorless, odorless and deadly.
38. Use extra care when handling gasoline and
other fuels. They are flammable and vapors are
explosive. Use only an approved container.
Never remove gas cap or add fuel when engine
is running. Do not smoke. Never refuel or drain
the machine indoors.
39. Disconnect the battery ground cable before
making repairs to electrical system or doing any
welding.
40. If the mower starts to vibrate abnormally,
disengage the PTO, stop the engine
immediately and check for cause. Excessive
vibration is generally a sign of trouble.
