MAINTENANCE
ALWAYS USE GENUINE PARTS WHEN
REPLACEMENT PARTS ARE REQUIRED
1. Keep the tractor and mower properly
maintained.
2. Park the tractor/mower on level ground, place
the transmission in neutral, set the parking
brake, disengage the PTO, lower the mower
to the ground, place all control levers in
neutral, shut off the engine and remove the
ignition key and allow the rotating parts to
stop BEFORE making any mower
adjustments. Understand service procedure
before doing work.
3. To avoid injury, do not adjust, unblock the
driving system, or service the mower with the
tractor engine running. Never raise deck with
the blades running. Make sure rotating
components have completely stopped
BEFORE leaving the operator’s seat.
4. Always wear eye protection when cleaning or
servicing the mower or subframe.
5. DO NOT service the tractor while the engine
is running or hot, or if the unit is in motion. To
service mower in raised position, securely
support with stands or suitable blocking
before working underneath. Do not rely on
hydraulically supported devices for your
safety. They can settle suddenly, leak down,
or be accidentally lowered.
6. Disconnect battery or remove spark plug (for
gas engines) before making any repairs.
Disconnect the negative terminal first and the
positive last. Reconnect positive first and
negative last.
7. Keep safety labels visible when installing
accessories and attachments.
8. Make sure all shields and guards are
securely in place following all service,
cleaning, or repair work. Be sure all
interlocks are attached, adjusted properly,
and functioning properly.
9. Do not modify or alter this mower or any of
its components or operating functions. If
you have questions concerning
modifications, consult with your dealer.
10. Inspect machine before you operate. Do not
operate a mower that is defective or has
missing parts. Replace worn and damaged
blades and bolts in sets to preserve balance
Make sure that all recommended
maintenance procedures are completed
before operating the mower.
11. Clean grass and debris from cutting units,
drives, mufflers, and engine to help prevent
fires. Clean up oil or fuel spillage.
12. Check all controls regularly and adjust
where necessary. Make sure that the
brakes are evenly adjusted.
13. Use care when checking blades. Wrap the
blades or wear gloves, and use caution
when servicing them. Only replace blades.
Never straighten or weld them.
14. On multi-bladed machines, take care as
rotating one blade can cause other blades
to rotate.
15. Check grass catcher components and the
discharge guard frequently and replace with
manufacturer’s recommended parts, when
necessary. Grass catcher components are
subject to wear, damage, and deterioration
which could expose moving parts or allow
objects to be thrown.
16. Periodically check all nuts and bolts for
tightness, especially blade attachment bolts.
17. To avoid serious personal injury: Escaping
hydraulic/diesel fluid under pressure can
penetrate the skin causing serious injury.
Do not use your hands to check for leaks.
Use a piece of cardboard or paper to search
for leaks. If you are injured by escaping high
pressure fluid, see a medical doctor at
once.
18. Stop engine and relieve pressure by moving
hydraulic control levers back and forth
before connecting or disconnecting
hydraulic hoses. Tighten all connections
before starting engine or pressurizing
hoses.
19. The manufacturer will not claim
responsibility for fitment of unapproved
parts and/or accessories and any damages
as a result of their use.
