5. If the plant is accessible from the front only, skip to Step 6.
From behind the frame, torque the 1/4-20 nuts (Item 5) to
50 in-lbs.
6. The J85500G-2 plant is factory wired with ribbon cables
from the controller to each RSA slot. Locate and connect
the appropriate cable to the RSA interface connector.
7. In the ECS plant, the rectifier positions are numbered from
right to left and from top to bottom to correspond to the
locations assigned to rectifiers by the controller software.
Apply the appropriate rectifier labels to the face of the
rectifier front cover (Figure 5-4).
Supplementary
Bay Installation
Refer to Figure 5-5 and proceed as follows:
8. Mount the brackets (Item 1) onto the RSA as shown with
the 1/4-20 hardware (Items 2, 3) and tighten to 50 in-lbs.
9. Fasten brackets (Item 8) to rear of RSA. Fasten the 1/0
flexible cables from the cable kit (Item 4) to the RSA using
the kit-provided 3/8 hardware. Tighten to 20 ft-lbs.
10. Attach the ribbon cable assembly (Item 5) to the rear of the
RSA.
11. Install the RSA onto the frame, leaving eight (8) empty
holes above the top of the RSA mounting bracket. Bolt the
RSA to the frame using #12-24 screws (Item 6).
12. The J85500G-2 initial bay is factory wired with ribbon
cables from the controller. Locate the ribbon cable in the
initial bay that corresponds to the RSA in the
supple-mentary bay. For example, if a third RSA is to be
mounted in the supplementary bay, use the dangling cable
located below the second RSA in the initial bay. Connect
the ribbon cable from the initial bay to the cable attached
to the RSA (Item 5).
13. Run the 1/0 flexible cables from the RSA to the charge and
charge return bus bars in the initial bay. The right mounted
1/0 cable on the RSA (as viewed from the rear) goes to the
charge return bus bar. Cut and form the cable and use the
kit-provided terminal lug hardware to mount to the bus
bars.
