      The message light on your Lucent Technologies Voicemail may not turn off immediately; it can take up to 30 seconds, or slightly longer during heavy call traffic. The light will stay on until all messages are removed from the Mailbox, unless you manually turn it off. Also, the message light could be indicating a message in the Trouble Mailbox, the General Mailbox, an operator message, or a received fax. Check these mailboxes for new messages.

Please try again later. It is also possible that the modular cords connecting to the mail system unit are loose. Check the modular cords on the PARTNER MAIL unit to ensure they are securely connected. You can also call the PARTNER MAIL port directly to see if the call is answered. If not, the connection may be broken.

Ensure a valid extension has been programmed or requested. If the issue involves the System Operator, verify that the correct extension has been designated for that person.

      If outside callers hear ringing but the Lucent Technologies Voicemail system doesn't answer, check the modular cords on the PARTNER MAIL unit to make sure they are securely connected. Call the PARTNER MAIL port directly to see if the call is answered. If not, the connection may be broken. This is also normal when all the PARTNER MAIL system ports are busy.

      If messages cannot be deposited in a subscriber's Lucent Technologies Voicemail Mailbox, it likely means the Mailbox is full. Old messages must be regularly deleted from Mailboxes. When a mailbox is full, new messages are deposited in the General Mailbox along with a recording identifying the name and extension of the called party. If subscribers frequently hear the “Mailbox Nearly Full” message, you may want to increase the storage size of their Mailboxes.
