Inaccordancewith2014USGreenHouseGasregulations,MACKTrucksInc.
isofferingoptionaltamperresistantV ehicleSpeedLimits(VSL)withcustomer
selectableconguration.
Ifavehicleisconguredasasofttopvehicle,itwillhaveanadditionalvehicle
speedlimitcalledSoftTopSpeedLimit(STSL)whichishigherthanthe
DefaultSpeedLimit(DSL).Normalvehicleoperationaccumulatesabankoftime
thatallowsyoutoreachSTSL.Thisbankoftimeisdecreasedwhendrivingatspeeds
aboveDSL.
Thereareanumberofsettingsdeningthisfunctionandtheyareallvisiblethrough
thecluster.Thesesettingsareconnectedtolegalrequirementstokeepoverallvehicle
speedsdown,andaredenedwhenthevehicleisbuilt.Theyarevaliduntilthe
vehiclehasreacheditsexpirationmileageafterwhichthisfunctionalityisnolonger
operationalandthevehiclegoesbacktonormalroadspeedlimitsettings.
TheAvailableTimevaluecangonegativesothatongoingsofttopoperationwillnot
beabortediftimerunsout.Thevehiclewillnotbeabletore-entersofttopoperation
untilenoughtimehasbeenaccumulatedtomaketheAvailableTimevaluepositive
again.Also,thereisamaximumlimitofminutesavailableforsofttopoperationfor
thevehicle’slifetime.Ifthatlimitisreached,softtopoperationisnolongerpossible.
