WARNING:
Only use the Piezosurgery Medical dynamometric key tofasten and remove the insert fromthe
handpiece.
Donotuseotherinstrumentssuchaspliers,pincers,etc.

WARNING:
Whilefasteningtheinsert,neverholdtheterminalpartofthehandpieceorthecord,butonlythe
plasticpartofthehandpieceitself(Pic.16).Tofastentheinsertcorrectly,holdthehandpiecermly
andonlyrotatethedynamometrickey.

DANGER:
Donotchangetheinsertwhilehandpieceisfunctioningasthiscouldcausepossibleinjuries

DANGER:
Ifaninsert were tobreakwhile beingused,it is necessaryto take greatcarein recovering and
removingallthefragmentsoftheinsertfromtheoperatingsite.Remainingfragmentsmaycause
injuriestothepatient.

DANGER: Breaking of the inserts.
Duringtheoperationavoidprolonged contact oftheinsertwithretractors or othermetalobjects.
Whentheinserttiptouchesmetalobjectsitcanbreakandleavefragmentsontheoperatingsite.

DANGER: Breaking and wearing of the inserts.
Inrarecases,thehighfrequencyvibrationsandthewearandtearmaycausetheinserttobreak.If
aninsertbreakswhilebeingused,itisnecessarytotakegreatcareinrecoveringandremovingall
thefragmentsoftheinsertfromtheoperatingsite.Remainingfragmentsmaycauseinjuriestothe
patient.

DANGER:
ThePiezosurgeryMedicaldeviceisandeviceusedinbonesurgery.Howeveraprolongedcontact
and/or excessive force of the inserts on soft tissues should be avoided because these could
causeburnsand/ornoncutlesions.Useparticularcautionwhenusingsharpinserts.Aprolonged
mechanicaluseofsharpinsertscouldcutthroughthesofttissues.Whenusinginproximityofsoft
tissues/nerves(forexampletheperineviumoftheperipheralnervoussystemortheduramaterof
thecentralnervoussystem)itishighlyrecommendedtonishthecutwithabluntdiamondinsertin
ordertominimizethepotentialriskofdamagingthesetissues.

DANGER:
Duringthesurgicaloperationtheinsertmustneverbeforcedifusedasaleverasthiscouldbreakit
andcauseinjuriestothepatientortheoperator.

DANGER:
Anexcessivepressureappliedtotheinserttipcouldbreakitandcauseinjuriestothepatientor
operator.

DANGER:
Donotbendormodifytheinsertinanywaybecausethiscouldreduceitsperformance,breakthetip
andcausepossibleinjuriestothepatientoroperator.

DANGER:
Alwayschecktheinsertbeforeandafterusingtomakesureitisnotdamaged.Ifdamageisdetected,
replacewithanewone.

WARNING:
Foracorrectuseofthedeviceitisnecessarytopressthefootswitchwiththeinsertnottouchingthe
parttotreat.Inthiswaytheelectroniccircuitcanrecognize,withoutinterference,thebestpointof
resonanceoftheinsertandenableanoptimaltreatment.
