Fitting 5 Point Harness, 2 Point Pelvic Strap and 4 Point Pelvic Strap
WARNINGS
1. Ensure there is at least a two nger gap between the user and the pelvic straps, this will ensure
the pelvic strap is not too tight.
2. Poorly tted pelvic straps may allow the user to slide down the seat which could cause asphyxiation
by the straps.
3. Check that the pelvic strap goes under the pelvic support and that it ts snugly at ALL times to
maintain a correct seating position.
4. Contact Medifab and/or the user’s health care provider, if you are not sure how to use the pelvic
strap. Do not use, if the straps are damaged or not rmly secured.
5. Keep the straps clean, as caked-up webbing will be dicult to adjust.
6. Inspect straps frequently to ensure the straps have not worked loose.
7. Do not allow the user to undo the buckle. If the user is able to undo the buckle contact the user’s
health care provider for guidance on preventing the user from undoing the buckle, as this may
be dangerous.

Fitting shoulder straps
Feed each of the shoulder straps through the appropriate slots in the backrest padding and the metal backrest (A).
Secure the straps into the two cam lock buckles situated on the backrest (B).
The length of the shoulder straps can be adjusted by the two cam lock buckles (B).
Fitting Crotch Strap
Feed the crotch strap attached to the 5 point buckle through the seat padding into the slot in the metal seat base (C).
Secure the strap into the cam lock buckle (D) located under the metal seat base. The position of the 5 point buckle
can be adjusted by the cam lock buckle (D).

Accessories: 5 Point Harness & Pelvic Straps Warnings
It is advisable that each time the Discovery Seat is used, the pelvic strap is examined
to ensure the strap is rmly secured and there is no visible sign of wear on the straps.
Readjust straps to allow for changes in clothing.
Pay particular attention to the following warnings relating to safe use of the 5 point
harness and the 2 and 4 point pelvic straps.
