Maintenance: Daily Checks
The following visual checks must be made before every use.
Discovery Seat
• Check the 5 point harness / 4 point pelvic strap / 2 point pelvic strap / chest
harness is / are securely tted to the seat.
• Check the backrest angle is secure and tight.
• Check the footplate angle and height is secure and tight.
• Check all the upholstery for wear and tear.
• Check all the adjustment levers and knobs are in place and secure.
Launcher Base
• Check the Discovery Seat is securely mounted on the Launcher Base.
• Check that the casters are locking tightly.
• Check the frame for wear and tear, splinters or breaks.
Moon Rock Base
• Check the Discovery Seat is securely mounted on the Moon Rock Base.
• Check the anti-rock bars both lock.
• Check the frame for wear and tear, splinters or breaks.
Reissue & Maintenance
The following points must be observed before re-issuing Shuttle Discovery. Ensure
that the product is standard and that no special attachments or modications have
been made. Ensure that the Shuttle Discovery meets the new user’s needs.
Each product has a serial number located on it. Do not remove this label.
Detailed checks / inspections should be carried out on the product by a technically
competent person who has been trained in the use of this product. Follow the
six monthly checks outlined on pages 59-60. If you are not able to carry out the
outlined checks please contact Medifab or your local dealer, who will be happy to
arrange a full service for your Shuttle Discovery.
A written record should be kept of six monthly checks, services, repairs and setups.
Please ll in the product log form at the rear of this manual.
Ensure the Shuttle Discovery has been fully cleaned as per this manual. Disinfection
of the product is not required.
Always ensure that a new user manual is supplied each time the product is
reissued. For a new manual please contact Medifab or your local dealer. You can

If the product is being delivered always ensure that it is packed securely to avoid
damage.
