General Information
The Shuttle Discovery system is an early intervention seating system. The Discovery
Seat is designed for special needs persons up to 25 kg (55 lb). The Discovery
Seat can be used with outdoor and indoor bases. Shuttle Discovery provides the
freedom to explore the outdoors. The Discovery Seat with Verve Stroller is referred
to in this manual as the Shuttle Discovery. The indoor bases - Moon Rock, Lunar, and
Launcher - allow the Discovery Seat to be used at school or at home.
Potential client groups include:
• Cerebral Palsy
• Low Tone
• Spastic Diplegia
• Autism
• Children with Cognitive Diculties
Shuttle Discovery components are prescription and over-the-counter medical
devices.
Intended Use
The Shuttle Discovery is intended for use as a manual wheelchair. It is indicated for
use to provide mobility to persons with disabilities who are partially or permanently
non-ambulatory and limited to a sitting position.
Declaration of Conformity
The Shuttle Discovery has the CE-mark. This certies that it meets relevant European
safety requirements.
Medifab declares that the Shuttle Discovery conforms to international ISO 7176
Wheelchairs standards.
Information on specic wheelchair testing is available on request.
The Shuttle Discovery has been classied as a class 1 product according to the
classication criteria outlined in annex IX of 93/42/EEC Guidelines.
