2. Safety
2.1 Terms and Symbols Used
In this manual and on the unit itself, certain recurring terms and symbols are used to warn
you of hazards or give you information that is important in order to prevent injury or
damage. To avoid accidents and damage, observe and follow these instructions. These
terms and symbols are explained below.
2.1.1 Terms Used
Warns of a dangerous situation that will result directly in death or serious (irreversible)
injury.
Warns of a dangerous situation that could result in death or serious physical injury.
Warns of a dangerous situation that could result in moderate or minor physical injury.
Warns of damage to property.
2.1.2 Symbols Used
Do not lift unit Do not tilt
Do not enter Gases / vapours
Risk of explosion Danger of electrocution
Tipping hazard General warning sign
Disconnect the mains plug Wear gloves
Wear safety shoes Observe information in separate manual
2.2 Product Safety and Dangers
The units described in this manual are technically sophisticated, manufactured using high-
quality materials and subject to many hours of testing in the factory. They reflect the state
of the art and comply with recognised technical safety regulations. However, there are still
risks involved, even when the units are used as intended. These are described below.
