4. Ensure that the rubber gasket is inside the gear lube monitor cap and install the cap. Do not overtighten.

Changing
1. Remove the gear lube monitor from the bracket.
a - Retaining bracket
b - Gear lube monitor
2. Empty the contents into a suitable container.
3. Install the gear lube monitor in the bracket.
4. Place the sterndrive in full trim limit out position, remove the gear lube fill and drain screw and sealing washer and drain the
gear lube.

5. Remove the gear lube vent screw and sealing washer. Allow the gear lube to drain completely.
