8 Troubleshooting
The on/off (butterfly) valve does not close seal-tight
□ Never close the on/off (butterfly) valve by exerting
excess force. This leads to the risk of irreparable damage.
□ Test whether the energy supply is connected.
□ Test whether the “closed” position of the actuator and
the “closed” position of the on/off disc are in alignment.
□ Check the torques of the BAR valve on the basis of the
following table. (see Table 13)
□ Check the sealing surface of the on/off disc and the seal-
ing elements for possible damage. Dismantle the on/off
(butterfly) valve. Test whether any foreign objects are
present between the on/off disc and the sealing ele-
ments. Remove the foreign objects or deposits, if neces-
sary.
□ Replace damaged parts, if necessary.

...at high-performance valves with O-ring seal
Test whether the O-rings are damaged at the bearing bush.
Replace the O-rings of the bearing bushing as well as the O-
rings and support rings of the shaft seal, and the annular
groove with spring, if necessary. (see Figure 13).

the Appendix.

Check whether the screws on the cover are firmly tight-
ened. Replace the sealing, if necessary.
