RS-232 OPERATION
The Gemini analyzer is a standard DTE device. The RS-232 port on the back panel of the
analyzer can be used to attach an analytical balance for transfer of sample mass, or for
transmitting data through a serial line to a computer.
Ensure the receiving device is configured to interface with the assignments in the Pin Assignment
table. Any signals not listed will be ignored by the analyzer.

Pin Assignment
The Gemini uses the DTR and DSR signals for hardware flow control. Ensure the serial device
being used provides these signals. For example; if attaching to a computer (also a DTE device),
use a null modem cable which includes the signals designated in the above table. If there is a
problem with transmission, ensure that the signals are set up properly. If the signals are correctly
configured, contact the receiving device manufacturer for assistance.
