2.1.3 Special function block
The special function block uses buffer memory (BFM) to send/receive data to/from the PLC.
1. FX3G Series PLC
• Connect the special function block(s) to the right side of the FX3G Series PLC.
• Up to 8 special function blocks can be connected.

2. FX3GC Series PLC
• Connect the special function block(s) to the right side of the FX3GC Series PLC.
• In some cases, FX
2NC-CNV-IF or FX3UC-1PS-5V may be needed for connection.
• Up to 8 special function blocks can be connected.
Select either FX
3UC-1PS-5V or FX2NC-CNV-IF considering the current components consumption.

3. FX3U Series PLC
• Connect the special function block(s) to the right side of the FX3U Series PLC.
