• If the scale unit is directly exposed to machining oil and chips, prepare a cover that protects the
entire scale unit regardless of the mounting direction. When deciding the cover shape, give consid-
eration to the splattering of the cutting oil and chips on the opening side.
• Fully take the actual movement of the scale unit into account and make sure that the cover does
not touch other objects across the entire stroke.
