2.2.5 Precautions on Designing the Mounting Surface
The following describes precautions on designing the mounting surface.

Precautions
y The mounting surfaces of the scale main unit and the Detector must be machine-processed to be
that. The following shows tolerances on the machine surfaces.

y Use the detector xing block to adjust the clearance between the scale main unit and the Detector.
y If there is a gap between the Detector and the mounting surface, select the most appropriate spac-
er from the supplied ones (thickness = 0.3/0.4/0.5/0.6 mm) and insert it in between them.
