OPERATING PROCEDURE
This chapter describes the basic operating procedure of the
VL-50A/VL-50AS.

(1) Turning on the power

Power switch: Set it to the [I]
side.
When initialization has been completed, the instrument
enters the count standby mode.
2 Press [ZERO] key.
The count value display mode is restored.
(2) Zero-setting
Key operation Response display/output Description
1 Press [ZERO] key.
Press [ZERO] key when WORK indicator lights up
and the count value becomes constant.
(3) Presetting

The display unit is put in the normal count mode.
2 Press [PREST].
The preset value that has been previously set is
displayed.
3 [ > ]
Pressing the [ > ] key flashes the most significant digit
(MSD) and enters a state in which a preset value can be
inputted.

Press [ ] 10 times.
Press the [ ] or [ ] key to change a display value.
The number at the MSD changes between 0 and 9, 9
and -0, -0 and -9, or -9 and 0, including the sign.
5 Press [ > ] 3 times.
Each time the [ > ] or [ < ] key is pressed, the flashing
digit moves in the direction of the arrow.

Press [ ] 5 times.
7 Press [PREST].
Pressing the [PRESET] key performs presetting.
To cancel presetting, press the [ZERO] key to restore
the count mode.
NOTE
Normally, set at the current value to perform zero-setting and presetting.
When presetting is performed in the peak mode, the peak value is preset as a reference
value.
