5.4 Engine start at LOP (without BlueLine automation system)
Preconditions
☑ Gearbox is in neutral position.
☑ External start interlock is not activated.
☑ Emergency air-shutoff flaps (if applicable) are open.
DANGER
Rotating and moving engine parts.
Risk of crushing, danger of parts of the body being caught or pulled in!
• Before cranking the engine with starter system, make sure that there are no persons in the engine's
danger zone.
WARNING
High level of engine noise when the engine is running.
Risk of damage to hearing!
• Wear ear protectors.
Cranking the engine (out-of-service period > 1 month)

Starting the engine from LOP

Engine Start in unloaded condition.
System Switch on.
LOP:
• Illuminated switch LOCAL OPERATION lights up brightly (local control
mode is active) (→ Page 35);
• Illuminated pushbutton GEARBOX NEUTRAL lights up brightly (gearbox is
disengaged) (→ Page 35).
LOP Press illuminated switch READY FOR OPERATION briefly (→ Page 35).
• Illuminated switch READY FOR OPERATION lights up brightly.
LOP Press illuminated pushbutton START briefly (→ Page 35).
• Illuminated pushbutton START of the relevant engine lights up brightly;
• Automatic starting sequence is performed;
• Engine speed display instrument indicates increasing speed;
• After completion of the starting sequence, the engine runs at idle speed,
and the illuminated pushbutton START changes to basic brightness.
