Hotline
Hotline provides partner extensions with one-button calling and Transfer.
Hotline gives a keyset user with a programmed Hotline key one-button calling and Transfer to another
extension (the Hotline partner). Hotline helps co-workers that work closely together. The Hotline partners
can call or Transfer calls to each other just by pressing their Hotline key. By default, an extension has no
Hotline keys assigned. Your Hotlines function as DSS/BLF keys and also show you the status of your part-
ners’ extensions:
Programming
Assign Hotline Keys to Extensions:
1. Enter the programming mode. You see:

1701 + HOLD. You see:
3. Enter the number of the keyset extension (e.g., 300) you want to program +
HOLD. You see:
4. Enter the number of the Programmable Function Key you want to assign as a Hotline Key (1-24,
depending on keyset type) +
HOLD. You see:
5. For the key selected, assign it as a Hotline Key (
05), then enter the Hotline partner’s extension number

HOLD.
6. Press CONF to go back to step 4 and select another key to program.
OR
Press
CONF twice to go back to step 3 and select another extension to program.
OR
Press
CONF three times to exit program 1701.
Feature Quick Steps
To place a call to your Hotline partner:
1. Press Hotline key.
To Transfer your trunk call to your Hotline partner:
1. Press Hotline key + Announce call or hang up.
To answer a call from your Hotline partner:
1. Speak toward phone.

Ringing ICM and Group Ring calls light the Hotline key. DILs, Key Ring
calls and transferred calls do not.
