Specify When to Use DSL and Mobile Broadband Internet
Connections
The gateway supports DSL and mobile broadband connections. You can specify the Internet
connection mode that the gateway uses by default and in a failover situation.
To specify when to use DSL and mobile broadband:
1. Launch a web browser from a computer or wireless device that is connected to the
network.
2. T
ype http://routerlogin.net or http://10.0.0.2.
A login screen displays.
3. Enter the gateway user name and password.
The user name is admin. The
default password is admin. The user name and password
are case-sensitive.
The BASIC Home screen displays.
4. Select ADV
ANCED > Setup > Broadband Settings.
5. In the Internet Connection Mode drop-down list, select one of the following:
• Use DSL first and if fail use Mobile Broadband connection
• Always use Mobile Broadband connection
• Always use DSL connection
6. In the Failover Detection Method section, select one of the following radio buttons:
• DNS lookup using W
AN DNS Server.
• Perform a DNS lookup by a hostname. If you select this option, you must enter the
DNS lookup host name in the field to the right of this option.
• Ping this IP address. If you select this option, you must enter the IP address to the
right of this option.
7. (Optional) Customize the retry and failover settings.
