4.9 REJECT SENSOR
The Reject sensor (missing label presence sensor) is a fibre optic sensor that is used to
detect the presence of containers as they travel around the applicator drum. When the
sensor detects a container, it sends a signal to the PLC that checks if it has just
received a signal from the missing label sensor. The machine will stop for missing
label fault if no label presence signal was received.
The setting is the same as the product sensor above.
4.10 MISSING LABEL SENSOR (UV)
A luminescence sensor (UV Sensor) is fitted to the labelling machine to provide the
‘missing label’ function. The machine will stop as a container reaches the reject
sensor if UV was not detected.
Missing Label Sensor
To set the missing label sensor:
• Place a labelled container in front of the sensor.
• Press the set button until the ‘ready / error’ LED turns off.
• Release the set button and wait for the ‘ready / error’ LED to turn green.
• The sensor is now set.
• The output LED will be on when a label is detected.
