SECTION 5 CHANGE OVER PROCEDURE
5.1 PROCEDURE FOR SIZE CHANGE
Change parts are not normally required for different sizes of labels, but each
significantly different diameter of container requires a change of presser pad.
For a changeover from one size of container/label to another, the recommended
procedure is:
Switch machine to Set Up mode and disable security features.
Containers
Open out product track guides to help removal of presser pad.
Remove product sensor (and reject sensor where fitted) from presser pad.
Remove presser pad – 2 fixing bolts.
Remove UV sensor (where fitted) from presser pad.
Select and fit new presser pad (refit sensors to presser pad).
Change infeed guides or tray fitments for new size tray (if applicable).
Change outfeed tray fitment (if applicable).
Labels
Place the new reel of labels onto label reel holder.
Using the free end of web set the label runout sensor (where fitted).
Thread the web along to the label sensors and teach the label sensors.
Roughly position the label sensors in the right position.
Pass the label around the beak and into the label feed rollers.
Jog the label feed to thread up through the label feed rollers.
Set position of both label sensors to ensure both correct flag at stripper plate
and label pitch.
Set Barcode reader (where fitted).
