Navigating the Screens
WARNING Ensure that all settings are appropriate for the patient
prior to starting ventilation.
Perform the Circuit Check
Perform the Circuit Check each time the breathing circuit or
exhalation valve is replaced.
1. Connect the breathing circuit to the ventilator as it will be used for
your patient.
2. Touch the Circuit Check button at the top of the touch screen and
follow the on-screen instructions.
3. For Step 1, occlude the patient connection end of the circuit. (Do
not use a test lung.)
4. Press the Accept button to confirm and start the Circuit Check.
5. For Step 2, open the patient connection end of the patient circuit.
6. Press the Accept button to continue the Circuit Check.
7. If the test passes, the message “Circuit Check PASSED Press
Accept to Confirm” will be displayed.
8. When the Circuit Check is completed, adjust patient settings as
needed and touch the Start Ventilation button to begin ventilation.
9. To cancel the Circuit Check and return to the Startup Screen,
press the Cancel button.
