Custom Settings: Fine-Tuning Camera Settings
The roles that can be assigned are listed below. The roles
available vary with the control.
Role Description
A
[Preset focus
point]
Pressing the control selects a preset focus point.
To choose the point, highlight it, hold the
control, and press the AF-mode button until
the focus point flashes.
Separate focus points can be selected for
“wide” (landscape) orientation and for each of
the two “tall” (portrait) orientations if an option
other than [Off] is selected for Custom Setting
a5 [Store points by orientation].
The behavior of the selected control can be
chosen by pressing

when [Preset focus
point] is highlighted.
-[Press to recall focus point]: Pressing the
control recalls the preset focus point.
-[Hold to recall focus point]: The preset focus
point is selected while the control is pressed.
Releasing the control restores the focus point
selected before the control was pressed.
