Handgun
CAUTION:
The
Nordson
handgun,
sensor, and cordset are not
compatible with similar components of other brands;therefore,
to
prevent
a
possible
hazard when replacing an existing
non-Nordson handgun with any Nordson RTD handgun,
you
will
need
to
obtain and install a cordset conversion kit. See
your
Nordson representative. Possible hazards include runaway
temperature
and failure to obtain an adequate
ground.
Before
installing the
replacement handgun,
gather
the following:

clothing

screwdriver

wrench

18-mm
(1U16-in.)
open-end
wrench
1.
Make sure
that
a
You
have followed the
procedure,
Relieving Hydraulic Pressure,
before
proceeding.
a
a
The applicator
circuit breaker is in the OFF
position
The input
power
line to the applicator main circuit breaker is
disconnect and
locked
out.
CAUTION: Ensure that each set of electricalwires exiting the
hose
aligns
with a
groove
on the
pivot
sleeve so that the wires
do not twist around the
base of
the
pivot
sleeve. lmpioper
alignment can damage the wires, resulting in a
possible
electrical
short.
2. Align
the
pivot
sleeve and the
hose
so
that
the
grooves
along
the
sides of the
pivot
sleeve line up
with each set of wires exiting the
hose. Make sure to
route
the set
of wires containing the
ground
wire up the
groove
on the heater
side of the
pivot
sleeve.
NOTE: Handguns with a
thermostatic sensor use only one
set of electrical
wires.
