lntroduction
WARNING: Allow only

Observe
and
follow the safety instructions
in
this document
and all other related documentation.
Preventive maintenance
procedures
for Nordson Series AD-31
handguns
consist of
periodic
inspections, cleaning, and changing
out adhesive.
CAUTION:
Accumulated
adhesive
can char and cause
erratic
operation.
WARNING: Attempting any
other maintenance
procedure
than
those described
in
this section can cause
personal
injury
handgun damage, or improper system operation.
WARNING: Risk of death
or serious
injury from fire
or toxic
fumes. Use extreme care
in selecting a cleaning fluid
other
than Nordson
Type R fluid. Cleaning fluids other than
Type R
may
present
a toxic or fire hazard
even at room temperature.
NOTE: Nordson Type R
fluid is
used to clean adhesive
from extrusion
systems. lts advantages
over
similar
fluids
are that
it can be reused and
that it has an inoffensive odor.
