thefurnacebesuppliedfromadedicatedbranchcircuit
containingthe correct fuseorcircuitbreakerforthe
furnaceaslistedinTable4(page22).

An electrical disconnect must be installed readily
accessiblefromandlocatedwithinsightofthefurnace.
SeeFigure18(page29)orthewiringdiagramlabel
insideofthecontroldoor.Anyotherwiringmethods
mustbeacceptabletoauthorityhavingjurisdiction.
Properlinevoltagepolaritymustbemaintainedin
order for the control system to operate correctly.
Verifytheincomingneutrallineisconnectedtothe
whitewireandtheincomingHOTlineisconnected
totheblackwire.Thefurnacewillnotoperateunless
thepolarityandgroundareproperlyconnectedas
showninFigure18.
Grounding
WARNING:
Tominimizepersonalinjury,thefurnacecabinet
must have an uninterrupted or unbroken
electrical ground.The controls used in this
furnace require an earth ground to operate
properly.Acceptablemethodsincludeelectrical
wireorconduitapprovedforgroundservice.

Thermostat/LowVoltageConnections
• Thefurnaceisdesignedtobecontrolledbya24VAC
thermostat.Thethermostat’swiringmustcomplywith
thecurrentprovisionsoftheNEC(ANSI/NFPA70)and
withapplicablelocalcodeshavingjurisdiction.
• The thermostat must be installed according to the
instructionssuppliedbythethermostatmanufacturer.
Lowvoltageconnections(24VAC)fromthethermostat
arewiredtotheterminalstripontheintegratedcontrol
inthefurnace.Figure15(page22)containstheproper
connectionsforheatingonly(two-wire)andheating/
cooling (four-wire) applications. Recommended
minimumwiregauge forthermostat wiringisshown
inTable4(page22).
• The thermostat should be mounted about 5 feet
abovetheooronaninsidewall.DONOTinstallthe
thermostat on an outside wall or any other location
whereitsoperationmaybeadverselyaffectedbyradiant
heatfromreplaces,sunlight,orlightingxtures,and
convectiveheatfromwarmairregistersorelectrical
appliances. Refer to the thermostat manufacturer’s
instructionsheetfordetailedmountinginformation.
