OPERATING SEQUENCE
Theoperatingsequences forthe heating, cooling, and
fanmodes are described below. Refertothe eld and
furnacewiringdiagrams:(Figures15&16,page31)and
(Figure18page28).
HeatingCycle
1.The thermostat calls for heat by energizing the W
terminalwith24VAC.
2.Thecontrolveriesthepressureswitchisopen.
3.Ifthepressureswitchisopen,thecontrolenergizesthe
inducerandwaitsforthepressureswitchtoclose.The
pressureswitchmustclosewithin10seconds.
4.Thecontrolrunstheinducerfora30secondpre-purge.
5.The control energizes the Hot Surface Igniter (HSI)
outputfortheappropriatewarm-uptimelimit.
6.Thecontrolenergizesthemaingasvalvefor3seconds.
7.Iftheameprovedandignitesthegas,thecontrolde-
energizestheHSI.Thegasvalveandinducerremains
energized.Thecontrolgoestoblowerondelay.
8.Ifameispresent,thecontrolenergizesthebloweron
theselectedHEATspeed30secondsafterthegasvalve
opened.Thegasvalveandinducerremainenergized.
9.Whenthethermostatdemandforheatissatised,the
controlde-energizesthegasvalve.TheInduceroutput
remainsonfora30secondpost-purgeperiod.
10.Blower off timing begins when the thermostat is
satised.ThecontrolwilloperateattheselectedHEAT
speedof60,90,120,or180seconds.Iftheblower
off delayjumper is not present, the fanshould still
operatefor120secondsattheselectedHEATspeed.
TheIndoorblowermotorisde-energizedafterablower
offdelayasselectedbythemovablejumper.
CoolingCycle
1.The thermostat calls forcoolingbyenergizingthe Y
terminalwith24VAC.
2.Thecontrolenergizestheblowerincoolingspeedand
sends24VACtothecontactorinthecondensingunit
3.Whenthethermostatremovesthecallforcooling,the
contactorintheoutdoorcondensingunitisde-energized
andthecontrolcontinuestorunthefanforaperiodof
60seconds.
Fan Mode
• When the thermostat energizes the G terminal for
continuousfan(withoutcallingforheatorcooling),the
indoorfanisenergizedontheselectedFANspeed.
• Ifacallforcoolingoccursduringcontinuousfan,the
blowerwillswitchovertotheselectedCOOLspeed.
• If the W terminal receives a call for heat during
continuousfan,theblowerwilldeenergize.
• Acallforfanisignoredwhileinlockout.
MAINTENANCE
Propermaintenanceismostimportanttoachievethebest
performancefromafurnace.Followtheseinstructionsfor
yearsofsafe,troublefreeoperation.
• Thesemaintenanceinstructionsareprimarilyintended
toassistqualiedtechniciansexperiencedintheproper
maintenanceandoperationofthisappliance.
• Alwaysclosethedooronthefurnaceafterservicing
orcleaning/changingthelters.Donotoperatethe
furnacewithoutthedoorclosed.
• Verify the thermostat is properly installed and will
notbeaffectedbydraftsorheatfromlampsorother
appliances.
