NOTE: This furnace is designed to operate with a
maximumexternalpressureriseof0.3inchesofwater
column.Itisimportantthattheductsystembedesigned
toprovidethecorrectowratesandexternalpressure
rise. An improperlydesigned duct system can result
innuisanceshutdowns,andcomfortornoiseissues.
3.Adjustallregisters and ductdamperstothedesired
positionandrunthefurnacefor10to15minutesbefore
takinganytemperaturereadings.Thetemperaturerise
is the difference between the supply and return air
temperatures.
VerifyingBurnerOperation
CAUTION:
Thedoorovertheburnersmayonlybeopen
forinspectionpurposesonly.Thedoormustbe
installedduringunattendedoperation.
1.Setthethermostataboveroomtemperatureandobserve
theignitionsequence.NOTE: Theburnerameshould
carry over immediately between all burners without
liftingoff,curling,oroating.Theamesshouldbeblue,
withoutyellowtips.
2.Aftervalidatingtheame,changethermostatsettingto
belowroomtemperature.
3.Verifytheburnerameiscompletelyextinguished.
4.Replacetheburnercompartmentdoor.

Switch
Note: Aproperlyfunctioninglimitswitchshouldturnoff
thegasvalvewhenthereturnisblocked(timedepends
onhowwellthereturnairisblocked).Thecirculatingair
andcombustionblowersshouldcontinuetorunwhenthe
limitswitchopens.
1.Verifytheblowerdoorissecurelymountedinplaceand
thatthereispowertothefurnace.
2.Blockthereturnairowtothefurnacebyinstallinga
close-offplateinplaceoforupstreamofthelter(s).
3.Setthethermostataboveroomtemperatureandobserve
theOperatingSequence.
4.Removetheclose-offimmediatelyafterthelimitswitch
opens.Ifthefurnacecontinuestooperatewithnoreturn
air,setthethermostatbelowroomtemperature,shut
offpowertothefurnace,andreplacethelimitswitch.
