Symptom Cause Remedy
Heating / Cooling (Continued)
The heat assembly is not
working.
Heater will not turn on
if the unit is running on
battery backup.
Check the wiring to the heat assembly
and correct if necessary (Contact
OFITE).
Replace the heater assembly (Contact
OFITE).
The unit is
not able to
maintain
temperature
or the
temperature
is cycling
uncontrollably
The coolant water is on.
The thermocouple is not
plugged in.
The thermocouple wires
have been reversed.
Turn off the cooling water.
Plug in the thermocouple.
Switch the wires on the thermocouple
leads.
The unit is not
cooling
The unit is not cooling. Make sure the cooling water is
switched on at the source.
Make sure the cooling switch is set to
Manual.
Make sure the auto cool function is
programmed correctly in the software.
Make sure the cooling lines are free
from obstructions.
The cooling solenoid is not functioning
(Contact OFITE).
Thermocouple
Thermocou-
ple will not t
into the cell
cap
The thermocouple is bent.
The shaft on the slurry
cup is bent and/or
damaged.
Replace the thermocouple.
Replace the slurry cup shaft.
Pressure
The unit
will not hold
pressure
The cell cap o-ring is
leaking.
There is a leak at one of
the ttings.
The pressure release
valve (PRV) is damaged.
Replace the cell cap o-ring.
Trace the tubing and tighten the
leaking connection.
Replace the PRV.
