HARD
DISK DRIVE AND CONTROLLER TEST
The
contents of the hard disk are not affected by this test.
This test includes a number of routines to check the correct function-
ing
of
the hard disk and
its
controller. These routines perform the follow-
ing checks:
• drive ready
• controller hardware
• drive hardware
• track seek
Each
routine displays a message when loaded. The whole test takes
several
minutes
to
run.
At
the successful conclusion of the test a
message similar
to
the following
is
displayed:
