Chapter 6 Measurement procedures (LX only)
Measurement value check
The accuracy of stereo measurement will be reduced by loose attachment of the
optical adapter or dirt on the lens components. Routinely perform a check of
measurements before and after the actual testing and confirm that the
measurement values do not vary considerably.
Checking the measurement values
1 Insert the insertion tube distal end into the optical adapter hole of
the check tool (included with the Stereo Measurement Set) to the
end.
2 Turn the check tool so that you see an image similar to the one
shown in the figure below.
3 Perform the distance mode stereo measurement (see page 119) to
measure a known distance of 2 mm or 0.1 inch between two
indices.
4 Confirm that the measurement accuracy is within ±10% and write
down the measurement result.
5 Perform the above test measurements before and after the actual
inspection to confirm that the obtained values are almost identical.
