Troubleshooting Problems with Unit Versions on the CX-Programmer
Problem Cause Solution
After the above message is displayed, a compiling
error will be displayed on the Compile Tab Page in the
Output Window.
An attempt was made to down-
load a program containing
instructions supported only by
later unit versions or a CPU Unit
to a previous unit version.
Check the program or change to
a CPU Unit with a later unit ver-
sion.
An attempt was to download a
PLC Setup containing settings
supported only by later unit ver-
sions or a CPU Unit to a previous
unit version.
Check the settings in the PLC
Setup or change to a CPU Unit
with a later unit version.
“????” is displayed in a program transferred from the
PLC to the CX-Programmer.
An attempt was made to upload
a program containing instruc-
tions supported only by higher
versions of CX-Programmer to a
lower version.
New instructions cannot be
uploaded to lower versions of
CX-Programmer. Use a higher
version of CX-Programmer.
