12.2 USB Port
The USB port on the phase selector is a standard mini-AB receptacle. To communicate with the phase
selector using USB, connect a USB cable from the USB port on the phase selector to a USB port on your
computer.
The first time you connect your computer to the phase selector using the USB port, your computer
will detect a new device called Opticom phase selector.
o The drivers will automatically be loaded.
o Once complete, a new serial port will be created on your computer.
Select that port number in the On-site software to communicate with the phase selector.
o See the On-site software help file for details.
When you disconnect the USB cable, your computer will no longer see that serial port.
o But it will reappear when you reconnect the cable.
o If you plug into a different USB port on your computer, it may install another serial port.
