15.2 Troubleshooting Tables
Table 15-1 shows the symptoms of intersection equipment installation and setup problems. The table also
shows the possible causes of the problems and suggests solutions to correct them.
Table 15-2 shows the expected voltages at various wiring terminals

Phase selector Status will not
light.
Wiring incorrect. Check wiring. Verify that the phase
selector is receiving either 120 VAC or
24 VDC
Faulty Radio/GPS unit Disconnect and replace radio/GPS unit
Faulty IR Detector Disconnect and replace detector/s
Phase selector failed. Return unit to GTT for service.
Call LED does not light when
vehicle is in an approach.
Vehicle is not in range. Using The On-site software, check ETA
and range for all classes, high and low
priority.
Vehicle is not transmitting. Check the View Vehicles and
Intersections Heard window to see if
vehicle is being heard.
Approach not mapped. Map approach.
Approach map is not long
enough, or is drawn incorrectly.
Redraw approach map.
Approach map was drawn away
from intersection.
Redraw approach map toward
intersection.
Radio/GPS unit is obstructed
preventing radio reception.
Move radio/GPS unit.
Priority that vehicle is operating
in shut-off.
Enable priority and set range.
Radio/GPS unit failed. Return unit to GTT for service.
Phase selector failed. Return unit to GTT for service.
Call LED lights but controller
will not respond.
Phase selector outputs not wired
correctly.
Verify that phase selector outputs are
wired to correct controller preemption
inputs and logic ground.
Phase selector outputs not
configured correctly.
Verify that outputs are configured
correctly.
Phase selector outputs have
failed.
Verify that controller does not see
preemption input, replace phase
selector.
Controller preemption inputs are
inactive.
Turn inputs on.
Controller preemption inputs
have failed.
Replace controller.
