6 PRODUCT SAFETY
6.1 Important Notes
Read all instructions before using this product.
Familiarize yourself with the System Specifications in the System Overview.
Charger installation requires an electrically qualified person. Take note of this safety section and
local electrical codes before operation. Users are responsible for conducting their own safety
evaluation of the charge system and enforcing their own policies.
OTTO Motors recommends adequately marking OTTO charging and docking zones for the hazards
presented and restricting access.
Charger users should follow the instructions contained in the operation and maintenance manual that
accompanies their OTTO 100 self-driving vehicle (SDV).
6.2 Hazards
This charger presents a number of risks to users even during the course of normal operation. All users
should familiarize themselves with the potential hazards of the system to anticipate and avoid them.
The hazards currently identified are as follows:
Electrical Shock
This charger is powered by a high voltage 200 V to 600 V power system. Improper use or
maintenance may result in serious injury or death.
Installation should only be performed by an electrically qualified person.
Maintenance should only be performed by designated and qualified individuals.
Never attempt to open the main electrical enclosure or adjust any cabling to or from the
enclosures while the system is connected to power.
Follow the Lock-Out/Tag-Out procedures of the facility in which the charger is installed.
