10 INSTALLATION
10.1 Charger Electronic Unit Installation
Original Manufacturer instructions for the Charger Electronic Unit are available on the OTTO Motors
Support Center at help.ottomotors.com. The AC input source to which the charger is to be connected must
be capable of supplying the current specified on the charger nameplate.
Danger
The charger can be connected to three-phase power, depending on the charger model.
Consult the nameplate on the Charger Electronic Unit for the voltage description. Only
connect to a power supply that matches the listed voltage requirement. See the System
Overview for the different models and their voltage requirements.
Danger
Follow the Lock-Out-Tag-Out procedures of the facilities in which the charger will be installed.
Fuse/Breaker
To reduce the risk of fire, use this charger only on circuits with branch circuit protection (circuit
breaker or fuse) in accordance with the national electric code, ANSI/NFPA 70 and all local
codes and ordinances.
Main Disconnect
As required by local codes, the charger should be installed with a main disconnect that
electrically isolates the charger and functions as an emergency switch.
