12.1.2 Charge Tower Cleaning
The Charge Towers act as guides for docking OTTO 100 SDVs. Keeping the towers clean will improve
performance of the system.
The exterior surfaces of the Charge Towers can be cleaned with mild detergent and water on a damp cloth.
Electrical Shock
Avoid using excessive liquid when cleaning the charger. Under no circumstance should flowing
or standing liquid be used to clean the charger. Should the charger become inundated with
water it must not be returned to service before being inspected by a qualified electrician.
Contact OTTO Motors for further direction. Do not clean the electrical contacts or the contact
cartridge with water. Wait until all surfaces are completely dry before using the system again.
12.1.3 Charge Contact Cleaning
The charge and signal contacts may become scratched or dirty with repeated use. If the surfaces of the
contacts become discolored or uneven, they can be carefully buffed clean with a green 3M Scotchbrite
Scour Pad (3M ID 7000136859). Extreme dirt and carbon deposits may be removed with a plastic safe
electrical contact cleaner.
