You can record up to;

durations, titles are automatically divided every 8 hours.)

Preparation
oTurn on the television and select the appropriate video input to suit
the connections to this unit.
oTurn on this unit.

"Note about recording" (4 27).
Note
• It is not possible to record to two drives simultaneously.
• FJ_"_]IYou can create a Top Menu using "Create DVD Top Menu"
(4 72).
Recording or editing on the disc may delete the menu. In that case,
create the menu again.
Press [DRIVE SELECT] to select the recording
drive (HDD, DVD or VHS).
The "HDD", "DVD" or "VHS" indicator lights up on the unit.
If you selected the DVD drive

Press [OH, A, V] to select the channel.

mode [HDD/discs (XP, SP, LP, or EP) /
VHS (SP, EP or VP)].

oWhen there is over 100 hours available, the remaining
recording time is displayed in hourly units.

Press [O, REC] to start recording.

Recording will take place on open space on the HDD or on disc.
Data will not be overwritten.
• You cannot change the channel or recording mode during
recording. You can change the channel or recording mode
while paused; however, the recording will then be as a
separate title.
oYou can record while the unit is in standby for scheduled
recording, but once the time for the scheduled recording to begin is
reached, any recording taking place will stop and the scheduled
recording will begin.
• To pause recording
Press [! 1, PAUSE].
Press again to restart recording.
You can also press [O, REC] to restart.
o_ _ I_1 _ _ _ (Title is not split into separate
titles.)
• To stop recording
Press [•, STOP].
• From the start to the end of the recording is called one title.
ol_ll _ _ _ It takes about 30 seconds for the unit to
complete recording management information after recording
finishes.
olf the program is listed in the program listings (4 36), its name is
automatically made the title name after recording. (The recorded
title must be more than 3 minutes.)
In order to play DVD-R, DVD-RW (DVD-Video format) and +R
(recorded with this unit) on other DVD players, it is necessary
to finalize them (4 72).
