Connecting to other equipment
Using External Viewfinder (optional)
When using the external viewfinder (DMW-VF1; optional), the screen for taking the
wide-angle pictures can be displayed on the viewfinder.
Preparations: Turn off the camera and close the built-in flash.
Insert the external viewfinder (DMW-VF1;
optional) all the way into the hot shoe A.
Insert by pressing the bottom part of the external
viewfinder.
(Do not press on the viewfinder part.)
When attaching or removing the external viewfinder,
please take your time and do so with care.
Select [EXT. VIEWFINDER] on [REC]
menu.
For more about [EXT. VIEWFINDER], refer to P89.
Press 3/4 to select [ON] and then press [MENU/SET].
You can switch the LCD monitor to a blank screen by repeatedly pressing [DISPLAY].

Note
The frame lines show the usable area for a 24 mm lens (35 mm film camera equivalent, aspect
ratio 3:2, Wide).
Frame lines is only an approximation. Check the LCD monitor for precise view.
When the lens surface is dirty, wipe with a soft dry cloth.
Turn off the camera when removing the external viewfinder.
Read the operating instructions of the external viewfinder for details.
Keep the external viewfinder out of reach of children to prevent swallowing.
