Using External Viewfinder (optional)
When using the external viewfinder (DMW-VF1; optional), the screen for taking the
wide-angle pictures can be displayed on the viewfinder.
Preparations: Turn off the camera and close the built-in flash.
Insert the external viewfinder (DMW-VF1;
optional) all the way into the hot shoe A.
• Insert by pressing the bottom part of the external
viewfinder.
(Do not press on the viewfinder part.)
• When attaching or removing the external viewfinder,
please take your time and do so with care.
Select [EXT. VIEWFINDER] on [REC]
menu.
• For more about [EXT. VIEWFINDER], refer to P89.
Press 3/4 to select [ON] and then press [MENU/SET].
• You can switch the LCD monitor to a blank screen by repeatedly pressing [DISPLAY].

•
The frame lines show the usable area for a 24 mm lens (35 mm film camera equivalent, aspect
ratio 3:2, Wide).
• Frame lines is only an approximation. Check the LCD monitor for precise view.
• When the lens surface is dirty, wipe with a soft dry cloth.
• Turn off the camera when removing the external viewfinder.
• Read the operating instructions of the external viewfinder for details.
• Keep the external viewfinder out of reach of children to prevent swallowing.
