12.0 Testing and Maintenance
12.1 Burglar Alarm Testing
This test requires two people. One person will watch the keypad while
the other person walks around and opens the zones (i.e. open the
doors and windows that are protected). The LCD screen will display
the opened zones as shown in Figure 1 on page 8. If a zone does not
register, contact your installer. Use the Area Status Display to view
the open zones in other areas assigned to your keypad. Your installer
will provide details on the best way to test your particular system.
12.2 Fire Alarm Testing
Do NOT use an open flame or burning materials to test your fire
detection devices. Your installer will provide details on the best way
to test your particular system.
12.3 System Maintenance
Under normal use your system requires virtually no maintenance
other than regular testing. Your installer should change the battery
every three years.
12.4 System Test
Speak to your installer before conducting a system test since the
system must be programmed to respond to the test instructions. We
recommend that you conduct the system test once a week. Contact
your installer for instructions concerning your particular system.
