5. Starting Up
This chapter contains information on the steps necessary to put the device into
operation.
5.1 Charging the Battery
Charge the battery prior to starting up the device.

The status LED on the device flashes while the device is being charged.
IMPORTANT
Risk of property damage.
Do not store the device with a low battery charge status in order to prevent
a total discharge.
Avoid fully charging or total discharge of the battery to increase the service
life of the battery.
Only use the device within the temperature range permitted.
Refer to Chapter &„Mechanical Data“ on Page93.
INFORMATION
Observe this information regarding use of the integrated battery:
The battery is only charged in the temperature range of 0 - 45° C. In the
temperature range of 0 - 10° C, the battery is charged with half the charg-
ing current.
If the charge status of the battery drops below a specific value, the mea-
surement in progress is stopped. The measured values and user param-
eters are saved. The device switches off automatically.
