Perform
the
applicable
tests
in
this
section
if
the
instrument
fails
a
test
in
the
PIP
or
if
there
is
a
suspected
failure
in
an
assembly.
Each
test
may
be
performed
separately
from
the
other
tests.
Always
perform
the
PIP
after
completing
any
tests
in
this
section.
Test
and
calibration,
repair,
and
component
removal
should
be
attempted
only
by
personnel
qualified
by
training
or
experience.
Printed
circuit
boards
(PCBs)
which
cannot
be
repaired
in
the
field
should
be
returned
to
Physio-Control
for
service.
Shock
hazard.
Do
not
touch
exposed
terminals
and
wires
while
instrument
power
is
on.
Avoid
component
damage.
Static
Sensitive
Devices
(SSDs).
Use
the
Special
Handling
Procedures
for
Static
Sensitive
Devices
described
in
section
4
to
prevent
build
up
of static
charge.
Refer
to
Table
5-1
to
identify
PCB
assemblies
containing
SSDs.
Some
test
and
calibration
procedures
may
require
opening
the
instrument
case.
Disassembly
procedures
are
provided
in
Section
4.
Perform
a
close
visual
inspection
before
disassembly.
Label
each
lead
or
draw
a
sketch
showing
the
location
of
cables
and
wires
before
removing
a
PCB
or
mechanical
assembly
for
repair
or
replacement.
This
TCP
applies
to
all
configurations
of
the
Shock
Advisory
Adapter.
This
PIP
does
not
apply
to
the
LIFEPAK
9
family
of
defibrillator/monitor/pacemakers;
refer
to
their
respective
service
manuals
for
testing
information.
Pushbuttons
are
indicated
in
CAPITAL
LETTERS,
Displayed
messages
are
indicated
in
BOLD
CAPITAL
LETTERS.
The
following
are
minimum
requirements:
Instruments
necessary
for
testing
of the
LIFEPAK
9
shock
advisory
adapter
are
listed
in
Table
3-2.
Although
specific,
commercially
available
test
instruments
are
recommended,
other
test
equipment
with
specifications
equivalent
to
those
listed
may
be
used.
