When
servicing
or
repairing
the
instrument,
routinely
begin
with
a
visual
Techniques
inspection
of
the
hardware
and
components
for
signs
of
damage.
Signs
of
damage
require
further
inspection
of
the
surrounding
area
for
peripheral
breakage
or
damage.
Exterior
Inspection
Visually
inspect
the
entire
instrument
for
wear,
corrosion,
deterioration,
and
damage
resulting
from
extreme
temperatures
or
dropping.
Lift
and
hold
the
instrument
upside
down
while
listening
for
loose
hardware.
