PCB
Repair
The
SAS
Adapter
PCB
Assembly
in
the
adapter
is
a
multilayer
PCB.
Precautions
Multilayer
PCBs
are
not
repaired
easily.
It
consists
of
alternate
layers
of
conductive
patterns
and
insulating
material
bonded
together
and
interconnected
with
plated-thru
holes.
The
internal
layers
and
connection
points
are
quickly
damaged
by
too
much
heat,
rendering
the
entire
PCB
useless.
It
is
therefore
recommended
that
all
multilayer
PCBs
be
returned
to
Physio-Control
for
repair
or
replacement.
Inspection
Techniques
When
servicing
or
repairing
the
instrument,
begin
with
a
visual
inspection.
When
a
failure
is
found,
look
for
other
peripheral
damage.
Exterior
Inspection
Visually
inspect
the
entire
instrument
for
wear,
corrosion,
deterioration,
and
damage
resulting
from
extreme
temperatures
or
dropping.
Lift
and
turn
the
instrument
upside
down
while
listening
for
loose
hardware.
Interior

Table

lists
the
