REMOVAL
OF
RUDDER
CONTROL
CABLES.
(Refer

Figure
5-10.)
a.
To
remove
either
the
forward
(13
and
14)
or
aft
(17
and
18)
rudder
cables,
first
remove
the
access
panel
to the
aft
section
of
the
fuselage.
b.
Disconnect
the
desired
cable
at the
turnbuckle
(15
or
16) in
the
aft
section
of
the
fuselage.
c.
Either
forward
rudder
cable
(13
or 14)
may
be
removed
by
the
following
procedure:
1. Remove
the
tunnel
cover
in
the
aft
area
of the
cabin
by removing
the
carpet
over
the
tunnel
and
the
cover
attachment
screws.
2.
Remove
the
cable
guard
plate
(10)
from
the
underside
of
the
pulley
clus
-
ter
(12)
that
is
located
in
the
aft
area
of the
floor
tunnel,
by removing
the
guard
attachment
screws.
3.
Remove
the
floor
panel
located
directly
aft
of the
main
spar
by removing
the
center
seats,
seat
belt
attachments
and
the
screws
securing
the
floor
panel.
Lift
the
panel
and
remove
from
airplane.
4.
From
within
the
area
of
the
floor
opening,
remove
the
cable
rub
blocks
(6)
that
are
attached
to
the
spar
housing
by
removing
the
block
attachment
screws.
Also
remove
the
cable
guard
pin(9)
at
the
pulley(8)
cluster
in
the
aft
area
of the
opening
by
removing
a
cotter
pin
from
one
end
of
the
guard.
5.
Remove
the
fuel
selector
panel
cover
by
removing
the
rudder
trim
knob
and
the
cover
attachment
screws.
6.
Remove
the
lower
selector
cover,
and
the
fuel
selector
control
lever
by
removing
the
attachment
pin,
at
the
bottom
of
the
lever,
that
holds
the
lever
on
the
selector
torque
tube.
7.
Remove
the
tunnel
plate
just
aft
of
the
tee
bar
by
removing
enough
car-
pet
from
the
tunnel
to
allow
the
plate
attachment
screws
and
the
plate
to
be
re-
moved.
